Transerco puts 53 electric buses into service in Hanoi
Transerco has launched its new electric buses, with two separate operations now underway. On October 6, the Cau Buou company began operating 28 medium-sized electric buses across two routes: line 22A, which runs between the Gia Lam bus station and the Kien Hung urban area, and line 22B, which connects the Giap Bat bus station with Do Nghia.
Transerco has confirmed that these 28 electric buses are manufactured by VinFast. The "Green Bus" models—featuring a green color scheme and the "Hanoibus" brand—display motifs depicting a dove and the Khue Van Cac, a symbol of Hanoi. Each bus has a maximum capacity of 60 people, which, given its size classification and design, suggests it is the EB 8 model.

Meanwhile, the Southern Hanoi Passenger Bus Company also began deploying the remaining 25 electric buses on October 6. This fleet operates on line 30, connecting the My Dinh bus station with the Gamuda urban area, and on line 50, which links Long Bien with the An Lac urban area in Hoai Duc. In this instance, Transerco has confirmed that the fleet consists entirely of the VinFast EB 8 model, which also offers a capacity of 60 people.
The EB 8 measures 8.6 meters in length, 2.5 meters in width, and 3.2 meters in height. Its maximum configuration includes 24 seats, with additional space for one wheelchair and 34 standing passengers. The model is equipped with a 200 kW electric motor, developed by VinFast, and a 359 kWh LFP battery that supports DC fast charging at up to 120 kW via a CCS2 connector. The EB 8 model is capable of reaching a top speed of 80 km/h and traveling over 290 kilometers on a single charge.

Hanoi’s goal is to transition its entire bus fleet to electric and renewable-energy-powered models by 2030. Specifically, the city plans a complete shift to electric buses within the central urban area, inside Ring Road 4.
