Pos Malaysia Uses Electric Vehicles for One-Third of Its Parcel Deliveries

Pos Malaysia currently manages the largest electric vehicle fleet in the country's logistics sector, with zero-emission vehicle deliveries now accounting for approximately 33% of the company's operations. By August 2026, the addition of new electric vehicles had raised the total number of operational electric vehicles to 1,585 units, comprising 1,253 two-wheelers and 332 vans. This represents a significant increase compared to the previous year, when the company used electric vehicles for 20% of its parcel deliveries. Pos Malaysia aims to transition its entire fleet of first- and last-mile delivery vehicles to electric models by 2030.

The majority of Pos Malaysia’s electric two-wheelers are Modenas MEV-1 Pro scooters, which have a range of 135 kilometers. Pos Malaysia announced a major electric vehicle acquisition in November 2024—at a time when its fleet consisted of only 220 electric two-wheelers and 143 electric vans—revealing the addition of 1,092 Modenas MEV-1 Pro units, which have since entered service.

Regarding the 143 electric vans, Pos Malaysia acquired the CAM EC35 model (a recognized version of the DFSK EC35) in October 2023 through drivEV, the electric vehicle leasing arm of Yinson GreenTech, a Malaysian green technology solutions provider. These electric vans offer a range of 266 kilometers on a single charge, based on the WLTP cycle. In September 2025, the company leased 136 units of the Maxus eDeliver 3 model—which has a WLTP-rated range of 227 kilometers—from drivEV.

Earlier this year, Pos Malaysia placed an order for 246 units of the Maxus eDeliver 5 model, which boasts a WLTP-rated range of 335 kilometers. Upon announcing the delivery of the first batch this July, Chief Operating Officer Zaini Yahman noted that this order would expand the company's electric van fleet to 525 units this year.

Pos Malaysia states that its fleet electrification program has recently been the subject of a sustainability impact case study conducted by the United Nations Global Compact Network Malaysia, Brunei, and Cambodia (UNGCMBC). Since the 2023 fiscal year, the company's electric vehicle fleet has covered a total of 28.8 million kilometers—equivalent to circling the globe approximately 719 times—and has helped avoid the emission of 3,881 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2).

"At Pos Malaysia, fleet electrification is a cornerstone of our commitment to sustainability and decarbonization. Currently, our electric fleet—the largest in Malaysia—is operating nationwide, handling mail and parcel deliveries," said Charles Brewer, Group CEO of Pos Malaysia.
